One of the greatest blessings that have come from my blogging ministry has been the beautiful community of women that I’ve been introduced to. These ladies live all around the world, and yet we are all united by our love for God and desire to bring more positivity into this world. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that today I’ve featured five of my Instagram ladies from the Seeking Him Instagram Pod. So here on the blog, I wanted to introduce you to them a bit further, sharing some of my favorite nuggets of wisdom that I’ve received from each of them.
My friend Leli Holmes writes to us from South Carolina about embracing the beautiful chaos that comes with raising her three children in today’s busy world. Both on Leli’s blog and Instagram, you’ll find beautiful images filled with uplifting and sometimes humorous posts. I especially love following her family this summer as they work to go back to simpler living of an “old fashioned” summer. My personal favorite post from Leli’s is Making friends after you have kids, it’s sort of like dating all over again (only harder), mostly because it so perfectly resonated with my own friendship making experiences.
Like Leli, Rachael is a wife and mother of three. Her blog Oh Lord Help Us was created as a place for her to share her heart and to encourage other moms as they navigate the waters of parenthood, although her message has expanded much further over the years. One of my personal favorites from Rachael’s blog is Hiding: Finding the Time to Be Still where she talks about the importance of finding time to be still in God’s presence. I think this post resonated with me mostly because it is something I really struggle with. I so easily get caught up in the business of doing, that I forget to simply be. In addition to her writing, Rachael also has an extensive shop filled with beautiful jewelry, apparel, and other goodies. You’ll definitely want to check her out!
Though she currently lives in Charleston, Keri actually grew up in Michigan. She and her husband have three little ones and Keri is big on the importance of intentional living and choosing joy each day. Yet she practically reminds us that doesn’t mean we need to do it all; rather, it means “choosing to do less so we can do it well.” I love this reminder because it is so relevant to any mother, no matter what stage of life she’s in. I also love that Keri’s blog has tons of practical posts, with activities and resources to keep your little people busy and make your days more intentional. Currently, she has a great summer series going on along with her Mom’s Guide to Surviving Summer. You definitely won’t want to miss out on this great FREE resource!
Beloved has a totally different feel than the other three blog’s I’ve introduced to you today. Written by my friend E (who remains anonymous to protect her family’s privacy), the purpose of this blog is to support and encourage people who are preparing for or are already married. Her posts are meant to delve into topics that Christians often shy away from, like the realities of sex. For example, E recently wrote a post about Pornography and how it destroys Christian marriage. What made this post so unique is that E’s husband actually wrote portions of this article, sharing his own past struggles with pornography and how it has affected their marriage.
It’s not easy to share about such vulnerable and personal topics, and I’ve been consistently impressed with the poise and tasteful humor in which E manages to do it. You’ll also find plenty of Scriptural Reflections on Beloved and other encouraging pieces.
And lastly, my friend Jillian spreads encouragement and positivity to Christian women through her Instagram account and free podcasts. I love visiting Jillian’s Instagram feed each day because of its striking images coupled with her God-seeking heart. If your looking for a little pick-me-up or just a way to incorporate more Jesus into your life, then you’ll definitely want to check out Jillian. You can find Jillian’s podcasts, shop, and other resources on her lovely website.
Well, folks, that’s all I have to introduce to you today, but stay tuned for future posts about other fabulous bloggers and Christian women. Happy Friday everyone!
